I wanted to create a really fun character, and make him move around to music! And that was the character development process for Gregg.
Now after creating him, and really liking his look, I will try to create more animations with him.
Gregg was modeled, rigged and animated in Maya. Textures were created in Substance Painter. Nice program for creating textures fairly easily.
The animation was rendered in V-Ray in a couple of layers and render passes…a little tricky since I wanted to render in HD, and was limited by time and my hardware. The composite was done in Nuke and final edits in Premiere Pro.
Just look at that node graph… Things have a way of just getting complicated when you are having fun with Nuke
